My Secret Fitness Formula

It’s really no secret. My fitness formula is very simple.

Persistence + Determination = Results

Here’s a real world example of how my formula works. You could call it “How a tired mother of two became a confident, energetic woman through persistence and determination.”

As I visited the local “Quick Store” on the corner, I met the woman, “Sara,” who runs and owns the store. I was still wearing my work-out clothes, and she mentioned that she would like to “get in shape”. I gave her my card and told her to call me if she was interested in a fitness consultation.

I meet a lot of women who want to start a program but they seem to get stuck in the “I want” stage. But she was different. A few days later she called me, and we arranged a time to meet. During our first consultation, we discussed what her needs were, the things she wanted to improve, and any obstacles that prevented her from taking action.

As we talked, she seemed somewhat disappointed in herself. She expressed how tired and stressed she was all the time. She felt embarrassed to wear anything that showed her hips and upper arms. She did not like her body.

When we discussed realistic goals and the type of program that would be effective for her, she started to get excited. By the time we finished the consultation, “Sara” was ready to start! A smile of hope and eagerness appeared.

It has now been, one year that I have been working with her. We began by training together 3 days a week. Soon Sara built enough confidence in herself that we would then meet once a week. She was her working out on her own on the other days.

She scheduled exercise for herself as a part of her daily life. This was her time. But most importantly, this important time to herself was non-negotiable. Her excuses for not working out were left behind.

The results she felt immediately were feelings of accomplishment and “proudness” of herself. Gradually, her weight loss and muscle firming results became obvious to herself and others. She loved these feelings. Her energy and zest for life were renewed. And yes, she was able to wear sleeveless shirts and form fitting clothes with confidence. It was as if she turned back the aging clock.

Sara’s husband certainly enjoyed seeing her happy and confident. He encouraged her and told her how proud he was of her hard work. The results were evident to everyone who knew her before she began to exercise. Most importantly to herself. She actually enjoyed looking in the mirror instead of running from it.

Nothing happens without action. And just starting a fitness program is easy. But it is the persistence of your actions and the dedication to your fitness program that get you the results you desire. that’s my secret yet simple fitness formula:
